All iPhoneDSRL.com posts are now automatically posted from WordPress to Twitter then to Facebook! And while I know this has nothing to do with creating my iPhone DSLR, it does have to do with building iPhoneDSLR.com plus I thought it was kinda cool.
Here’s a tutorial on how I did it:
1) Download and install the TwitPress plugin and install the TwitPress plugin on your WordPress blog. This app will allow you to automatically repost all your WordPress posts to to your Twitter account.
2) Once TwitPress is installed
- Go to your WP-Admin panel
- On the left menu bar click Tools –> Twitpress
- Enter your Twitter Username and Password
- Under Message Format enter “[title] [permalink] #fb”
- Click “Update Options”
This configures TwitPress to be able to post to Facebook
3) Now let’s configure the Perma Links
- In the WP-Admin panel on the left menu bar click Settings–> Permalinks
- Click “Custom Structure”
- Enter “/%year%/%monthnum%/%day%/%postname%#fb/”
(I used this format – you can use any format as long as it ends with “#fb”)
- Click “Save Changes”
4) Add the Selective Twitter Status app to your FacebookFan Page. (Note: you can choose whether you want to add the app to your profile page or your fan pages) Then go through the “grant permissions” process to allow this app to post to your Fan Page Status stream.
Bingo! Now all posts from your WordPress blog are automatically reposted to Twitter and Facebook
SocialBacklinker does all this and more! Facebook, twitter, stumbleupon, identi.ca, tumblr, the list goes on and on.
I did what you described above. When I post a new entry on my wordpress, it posts to twitter but not to my fan page. Help please.
You’ve got to make sure that your posts end with #fb
